Liquid Image Camera-Mask NOT!

(By Jesus Diaz, Gizmodo) While Liquid Image Scuba Series HD320 is a huge jump over their previous toy-mask—reaching 115 feet and capable of capturing 720p video and 5 megapixel photos—didn't anyone tell these people that one of the first rules of scuba diving is not to have objects protruding out of your personal space beyond your tank and BCD? Apparently not. In other words, if you are serious about getting good video or photographs underwater, forget about gimmicks like this and get external equipment. It will be more flexible and safe. PRODUCT PAGE

Do you want to go deeper ?

This is the two-person submersible that can descend to a depth of 1,000'. Providing access to underwater features such as coral reefs, shipwrecks, and the sea floor, a completely transparent, climate-controlled 3 1/4"-thick acrylic pressure sphere keeps explorers safe while dipping even into the mesopelagic zone, offering a chance to see exotic, bioluminescent species such as lanternfish. With a maximum speed of three knots, it is powered by a 120- and 24-volt battery bank that provide up to six hours of continuous undersea adventure. The craft is propelled by two 3-hp main thrusters that provide fore, aft, and directional control and two 3-hp vertical/translational thrusters that provide up, down, and lateral control. A centrally located joystick with independent main and vertical/translational thruster controls enables precise positioning near undersea attractions. The craft's dual-pontoon structure and broad freeboard ensure superior surface stability, even in high sea conditions. While submerged, four external 150-watt quart-halogen lamps illuminate subjects while a xenon strobe light and RF beacon alerts others of the craft's whereabouts. The 56 3/4"-diameter sphere's inner diameter enables comfortable, upright seating for passengers. A VHF radio provides surfaced communication and its underwater telephone communicates while submerged. It is equipped with a suite of standard instrumentation, including a barometer, thermometer, hygrometer, depth gauges, fluxgate and magnetic compasses, mechanical clinometers, pressure gauges, and a GPS receiver. Fully classified and certified as a +A1 passenger-carrying manned submersible by the American Bureau of Shipping. Includes comprehensive training. 10 1/2' L x 8 1/2' W x 6 1/4' H. (6,600 lbs).

Suunto ZOOP!

We have finally decided to purchase a dive computer. Until now, we only had a Citizen Aqualand Dupex but it does not work for Nitrox. The Suunto ZOOP seemed like the obvious choice as it is priced under 400$, it is very simple to use and you can dive NITROX with it. We actually bought two ZOOP but only one cable to hook it up to our home computer.

High-Definition Computer Mares Icon HD

Dive computers are an essential part of any professional diver's equipment roster. Unlike scuba diving itself, these dive computers have evolved quickly and tremendously well. The Mares Icon HD is pretty much the coolest of them all. Besides having a full-color LCD screen, this computer records up to 50 logbook dives. The Icon HD also uses a "Reduced Gradient Bubbles Model" algorithm which takes into account the possibility of microbubbles without compromising dive time. Pretty slick.

Wii Endless Ocean

I would rather be diving than playing video games. But unfortunately, where we live it's hard to dive all year long. Right now it's snowing and it's minus 10 degree. I've bought Endless Ocean for the Wii console and I got to say that it's very nice! Graphics are just amazing and it's very relaxing to play with. The sequel is coming out on February of 2010. In the meantime, you should visit the website of the first game which is just fantastic! Below, you'll find the the games covers and the video preview of Endless Ocean 2.

Who wants to talk to the phone while scuba diving ?

As read on their web site "It seems there are only a few places on earth that could not be reached by cellular calls. The earth's oceans are no exception. The sea covers over 70% of the world's surface, yet receiving an underwater phone call has never been possible, until now." Who wants that ? Who really want to able to talk to the phone while being underwater ???

DIVE BUDDY MD VERSION 3.0

This is my new Dive Buddy (if you scroll down you'll see Dive Buddy #1 and #2). I am very excited as I've just purchased an INON adaptor and a wide lens for it! Below you will find a list and a little slideshow of all the accessories. I've also made a thumbnail of two pictures of my kitchen with and without the wide lens so you can see the difference. I've also pasted two pictures I've found online which I hope will be the result of having this new wide lens attached to my camera... I can't wait to try it on our next trip!

MARES

Ok now I got your attention ? Scuba diving can be sexy! We've finally decided to buy our own BCD and regulator. After renting different equipements, we knew what we wanted and what we didn't. It is also because CPAS had their annual sale! Seems like a lot of money but when you think about it, it's yours for the next 5-10 years. We chose Mares as it seems to be the best quality for the price.

DIVE BUDDY MD VERSION 2.0

Here is the configuration of our second dive buddy. What really pushed us in buying another camera was that this one couldn't do wide videos. Quality of the picture you can do on close up are just amazing for a 6MP camera. If you saw our COZUMEL video , well it was all done with this camera.

DIVE BUDDY MD VERSION 1.0

Here is my first diving camera. I have received the camera for Christmas in 2006 and after one trip to Cuba I've decided to buy the waterproof case for it. This was just when I was doing snorkeling which made me thought about becoming a diver later...
