Skyfall, the next James Bond, will have an underwater fight!

EN-> (Via Gizmodo.com) Skyfall, the next James Bond movie, is going to have some serious underwater fights. They have been filmed in the only underwater stage in the planet, a 20-by-10-meter pool that is almost 20 feet deep and contains 317,006 gallons (1.2 million liters) of water. The whole mechanics on how they prepare and film theses scenes—using high quality underwater sparkers, underwater monitors and dive buddies, so nobody has to go up to the surface for hours—is quite fascinating. And it's always cool to see Daniel Craig doing the stunts.

The Sharkman

(CBS News) There is no animal that we fear more and understand less than the Great White Shark. In part because it's so hard to get near to them, studying great whites hasn't been easy. But there is one man who has spent his life getting closer to great whites, more often, than anyone else. His name is Mike Rutzen and in South Africa, where he lives, he's known simply as "The Sharkman." What he's discovered about these predators will surprise you: Far from being mindless killing machines Rutzen believes great whites are smart, curious, and not ou to kill humans, and as we reported back in 2010, he's willing to risk his life to prove it. Rutzen and CNN's Anderson Cooper took a boat ride to look for a great white Rutzen could swim with. That's right, swim with. En partie parce que c’est tellement difficile d’aller près d’eux, étudier le grand blanc n’a pas été facile. Mais il y a un homme qui a passé sa vie à se rapprocher des grands blancs, plus souvent, que quiconque. Initiation à la plongée sous-marine

(Par Daniel Melançon, Vendredi 11 février 2011 tva.canoe.ca) Le cours d'initiation est une séance qui se déroule en piscine et qui consiste à une introduction à la plongée sous-marine. Durant cette séance unique, on fait le tour de l'équipement complet (palmes, masque, tuba, veste, détendeur, bouteille et plombs). On va ensuite dans la section peu profonde de la piscine où on apprend l'utilisation de base de cet équipement autonome. On nous initie à la respiration dans le détendeur, la purge du détendeur, l'équilibration des oreilles et l'utilisation de la veste de plongée. On fait ensuite une balade d'exploration en se rendant dans la portion profonde de la piscine. BOUTIQUE CPAS.

Sperm Whale Encounter

I've found this vide while surfing on Vimeo. I dream about swimming with a whale of any kind. Imagine this big "thing" swimming just right beside you. Apparently, it is illegal to approach a whale. They are protected internationally so you are not supposed to get closer than 50 meters. Except if you are a video producer ? Howard and Michele Hall are natural history filmmakers specializing in marine wildlife and marine environmental films. Together they have produced numerous films for television including several episodes of the PBS series Nature, a National Geographic Special, and the five-part PBS series Secrets of the Ocean Realm. Ocean Men is the fascinating story of two divers and their unique relationship to the sea. Their goal - dive deeper than anyone has ever gone before on a single breath of air. For more than 10 years, world champion freedivers Pipin Ferreras and Umberto Pelizzari have been vying for world records. This film was produced in 2001. Why am I tlking about it ? French CBC (Canada) have decided to aired  this movie ercently. I just though I would share it with you. If you like free diving, you must watch this. I am sure you can find it in stores or at your local DVD rental. Umberto Pelizzari et Pipin Ferreras nous font partager leur passion pour l'océan, chacun à leur façon. Les images sont magnifiques, mais ne sont là que pour servir un scénario sans faille. Pourquoi je parle de ce film si il a été produit en 2001 ? C'est que Radio-canada a récemment diffusé ce  documentaire. À voir si vous êtes fan d'apnée! Le film est surement disponible en magasin ou à votre centre vidéo.

In the warm protected waters of the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, two thirds of the North Pacific humpback whale population come to compete and mate. In this short film, Cousteau divers use rebreathers to quietly film a pod of humpback whales. Their intimate experience is featured in "America's Underwater Treasures," a two-hour program and part of the series, Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Adventures shown on PBS.
